MichieHamlett attorney, Winchester family fight for soccer goal safety
Ten-year-old Hayden Ellias of Winchester, Va., was killed in 2007 when an unsecured soccer goal fell on him.
MichieHamlett Attorney J. Gregory Webb represented the Ellias family in a successful lawsuit against the goal’s manufacturer.
The Ellias family has set up a website, Haydensgoal.org, to share safety information.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission issued soccer goal safety guidelines in 1995, suggesting ground anchors or sandbags.
