RONALD R. TWEEL began practicing with the firm in 1975. He concentrates
primarily in the practice of domestic relations. He graduated from Hampden
Sydney College in 1968, magna cum laude, and from the University of
Virginia School of Law in 1971. In 1979 he was appointed substitute judge
for the Sixteenth Judicial District of Virginia and remained there until 2003.
He has taught at various times at the University of Virginia School of Law.
He is the Past Chairman of the Family Law Section of the Virginia State Bar
and of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association. He belongs to the American
Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, the American College of Family Trial Lawyers,
and is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation and the Virginia Law
Foundation. He was recently selected to be a member of the Virginia Bar
Council. He is named in Best Lawyers in America (1989 to present)
and Super Lawyers (2006 to present).
